This investigation was conducted to provide information for the plans to renovate an existing football stadium in Dublin. A number of the stands have been demolished to be replaced by modern ones in order to accommodate more spectators as well as improved facilities.

Locations were tested within the existing stadium complex and also on the pitch itself. As the pitch and facilities were still in regular use, it was imperative to minimise any disturbance. We had to ensure we worked closely with the wider site investigation team to keep the work area clean, tidy and organised to minimise any impact. Where required, we operated the pressuremeter tests semi-remotely to minimise impact on the sensitive areas of the site.

This project required the use of our High Pressure Dilatometer (HPD) equipment to carry out tests in the very stiff superficial Dublin Boulder Clay material. The equipment was mobilised from the UK via ferry by our operators in our pressuremeter testing van, with all logistics and customs documents organised by ourselves.
