'Darren the Geologist'
Over the years, we have been into many schools throughout the UK to talk to the children about our work and given practical demonstrations, including taking some of our CPT rigs onto the school field for the children to explore first hand and ask questions. 'Darren the Geologist' has inspired many children and given them the opportunity to find out about rock types and fossils and even a recipe for soil (including worms!).
Glynde & Beddingham Cricket Club
In Situ Site Investigation also proudly sponsors Glynde and Beddingham Cricket Club who are based in East Sussex. Our sponsorship enables the club to invest each year in equipment for their junior section which has now increased to just over 100 juniors from the ages of 4-16. It also allows the club to keep junior membership as low as possible and hold initiatives to offer free training sessions for those who want to give cricket a try. Last season saw the club start up its first ever girls’ junior team and run two free training sessions for girls in conjunction with Sussex Cricket Club. This paid off as by the end of the season the club had four girls make the Sussex girls squad and also saw their U10s compete in the county finals at Sussex CCC in Hove where they came 3rd. The team had the only two girls competing out of all the other clubs who attended the finals day – a great achievement!
